Damage Values

This article needs more information. Please help expand it.

Damage Values are used in SkyBlock to assign the correct texture to an item. Vanilla items that become damaged can easily be turned into nulls, just by dropping them on the ground, and can also be given illegal textures. Damage values in vanilla are there to show how much damage an item has taken, but SkyBlock converts the value into data values, which used to assign textures in vanilla minecraft. For example, Stone:0 is stone, where Stone:1 is granite. A vanilla piece of stone without any damage taken off gets turned into SkyBlock stone, and is assigned a rarity and other tags. The only known possible items this transformation is possible with are items fished up before the fishing update, null boots, null fishing rods, and null bows. These could be fished up with damage taken away, which then can change their texture to their damage value, creating an untextured, "not full durability" item.
