Item Status

Item Status is the state of an item in Hypixel SkyBlock. The most well-known versions are Safe, Blacklisted, and Neutral. These determine how the item reacts when changing servers, being held, and being dropped.

Safe items are the most abundant types of items. These items can be dropped, held, and can be moved between servers safely. Some items, like the Dwarven Tankard, can even be placed! Safe items can become Blacklisted when two of the same type of item have the same UUID.

Neutral Items are items that can be moved between servers, but cannot be swapped to in your hotbar or dropped as they will revert. Having an outdated item when opening an npc shop will also cause it to revert. Neutral items can be moved with your mouse cursor, and stored in chests, other vanilla containers, and all furniture containers and item frames.

They are commonly found in the form of GUI items stolen from menus, or other glitched items such as Coin Heads.

There are also miscellaneous forms of neutral items, such as the Weaponsmith Arrows, which when taken out of the quiver, if dropped, can't be recovered if the player has the quiver unlocked. Other items, like the Spirit Bow, will 'disintegrate' when dropped, removing it permanently.

Blacklisted Items are a small group of items that were likely never intended to exist. These items get removed on a timer, making it difficult to move them around or store them safely.

The timer that removes these items seems to check your inventory, wardrobe, ender chest, backpacks, island chests, and armor every 2 minutes. An easy way to tell when the timer is going to activate is to put some common blacklisted item, such as menu glass, armor stands, or barriers, and when they blacklist you are safe to move around other blacklisted items for a short amount of time.

There seems to be an extra blacklist tick right after joining a server, making it more difficult to move these items. Items with the same SkyBlock id that also have the same UUID will be blacklisted as well, on a different, shorter timer. ^[Confirm]

Blacklisted Items can likely be held, dropped, and moved between servers safely, assuming they don't get removed by the blacklist timer. Items can be blacklisted as well as outdated/neutral. Some examples of this are menu glass and anvil barriers, which are both blacklisted and neutral. Banners are an example of a blacklisted and outdated item.

Negative Items are items with a count less than one. These items are limited by both Minecraft's restrictions as well as Hypixel's. These items can not be picked up directly. Instead, you need to use indirect methods to move them around, such as double-clicking on another of the same item, or using hotkeys. These items revert to a stack of 1 if on your head slot, as well as in your inventory ^[Confirm], your enderchest, and your backpacks.

They now blacklist in all vanilla containers, reverting to a stack of 1. Custom containers often have trouble with them, and they can't be placed in item frames. They also don't blacklist in wardrobe slots, which are the only currently safe places to store them.

They can be safely traded by just clicking on them however, and if you are quick enough you can transfer these items to other accounts.

Arguably the most strict of all the item statuses, outdated items will revert/be removed when swapping servers, when being held, and when being dropped. Some examples of outdated items are items whos name/lore has changed through an update, or items that are more dangerous such as banners.

The Sinful Dice is constantly outdated, and whenever it updates it changes its skin. Moving servers changes it, as well as holding it and dropping it.

Items like the Redstone Key and the Spirit Bow (from Thorn's bossfight) are also outdated, but not in the normal way. Instead, these items delete only when swapping servers, as they have the NBT tag "dontSaveToProfile:1b" that deletes them.
