Composter/Organic Matter Calculator

This page calculates the best items to use for Organic Matter and Machine Fuel based on data retrieved through {{BazaarData}}. For Organic Matter, items worth less than 32 or more than 40,000 Organic Matter are excluded.

This page can be transcluded to make use of the following variables.

• {{#var:omcalc_organic_matter_value}} (currently 160) is the amount of Organic Matter that the item is worth.
• {{#var:omcalc_cost_per_compost}} (currently 11965) is the cost (in coins) to instant buy 4000 Organic Matter worth of the item from the Bazaar.
• {{#var:fuelcalc_best_item}} (currently Sunflower Oil) is the name of the fuel item with the lowest cost per Machine Fuel.
• {{#var:fuelcalc_best_item_plural_suffix}} (currently it is the empty string) is the suffix to be appended to the item name to make it plural.
• {{#var:fuelcalc_fuel_value}} (currently 20000) is the amount of Machine Fuel that the item is worth.
• {{#var:fuelcalc_cost_per_compost}} (currently 699.99) is the cost (in coins) to buy 2000 Machine Fuel worth of the item.
  • Voltas and Oil Barrels are assumed to be bought from the Bazaar with instant buy, and Biofuel has a fixed price from SkyMart.

The best Bazaar item for Organic Matter is currently  Enchanted Seeds at 11,965 Coins per 4000 Organic Matter. The best item for Machine Fuel is currently  Sunflower Oil at 700 Coins per 2000 Machine Fuel when purchased from the Bazaar.

For a Composter that doesn't have any Composter Upgrades yet, each Compost would need  25 Enchanted Seeds and  0.1 Sunflower Oil, which would cost 12,665 Coins. The Composter would be able to produce 6 Compost each hour, consuming 24,000 Organic Matter and 12,000 Machine Fuel in the process at a cost of 75,990 Coins. Since each Compost can be sold to the Bazaar at an instant sell price of 13,721.9 Coins, the hourly profit of running a base-level Composter using  Enchanted Seeds and  Sunflower Oil is 6,341 Coins per hour before tax. In total, the Composter could run unattended for 100 minutes before running out of Organic Matter, making 10 Compost in that time at a total cost of 126,650 Coins. The profit for the full 100 minutes would be 10,569 Coins before tax.

For a Composter with all Composter Upgrades maxed out, each Compost would need on average 1714.3 Organic Matter and 857.1 Machine Fuel, or  10.71 Enchanted Seeds and  0.043 Sunflower Oil, which together would cost 5,428 Coins. The Composter would be able to produce an average of 63 Compost per hour, consuming 108,000 Organic Matter and 54,000 Machine Fuel in the process at a cost of 75,990 Coins. The average hourly profit of running a maxed-out Composter using  Enchanted Seeds and  Sunflower Oil is 522,524 Coins per hour before tax. In total, the Composter could run unattended for exactly 5 hours before running out of Organic Matter, making an average of 315 Compost in that time at a total cost of 1,709,774 Coins. The average profit when running the maxed-out Composter for the full 5 hours would be 2,612,624 Coins before tax.

Keeping a maxed-out Composter topped off continuously for 30 real-life days would result in an expected profit of 376,217,978 Coins before tax.
