This article is a community resource. This page has been provided as a helpful resource for Hypixel SkyBlock players.

Minecraft modifications are a large part of the Minecraft experience for many players, with modifications ranging from small performance and visual improvements right through to gameplay altering ones.

Summary

As Minecraft modifications provide such a wide range of functionality, not all modifications are permitted to be used on Hypixel. The modifications below are use at your own risk. They are highly trusted modifications though and will likely not result in a ban, however user discretion is still advised.

It's advised to download mods from the official discords or websites of mod developers. Links from other sources might be a token logger, otherwise known as a rat. These mods can steal not only your Hypixel SkyBlock items, but your Minecraft account in general.

As of March 26, 2021, Hypixel Admin Fr0z3n released a thread clarifying which type of mods may result in a ban. This was done because some features in mods were flagging Watchdog, causing false bans. Mods that would modify packets and automate clicks are some examples.

Mods that alter the following are deemed illegal:

Displaying invisible entities (i.e. Ghosts, Fels).
Changing player movements.
Cancelling vanilla actions like clicking on blocks or interacting with a Player, Monster, or NPC.
- This does not impact the cancelling of actions such as "not dropping/salvaging certain items".
Automatically interacting with interface elements, such as inventories or menus. (i.e. automatically solving terminals/experimentation tables).

SkyblockAddons Unofficial	Fork of 1.8.9 SkyblockAddons mod. Adds miscellaneous features.
SkyBlock Item List	Adds an items menu with a search bar and recipe viewer. Alternative to REI + Firmament/Skyblocker.
Custom Scoreboard	Adds an ability to fully customize scoreboard. Replacement of the SkyHanni feature.
Skyblock Overhaul (SBO)	Adds features related to the Mythological Ritual event.

Optimization Mods

Modification	Uses
Sodium	Sodium is a powerful optimization mod for the Minecraft client, which greatly improves frame rates and micro-stutter, while fixing many graphical issues in Minecraft.
Sodium Extra	Sodium Extra aims to bring most of OptiFine's eye-candy options to Sodium; in addition to providing some features such as visual bug fixes and other performance options that are not yet available on Sodium.
Lithium	Lithium is a modern, general-purpose optimization mod for Minecraft which works to improve a number of systems (game physics, mob AI, block ticking, etc) with the goal of not changing any vanilla mechanics.
FerriteCore	This mod reduces the memory usage of Minecraft in a few different ways.
Entity Culling	This mod introduces asynchronous path-tracing to efficiently determine what's actually visible to the player. By leveraging multiple CPU cores, it calculates line-of-sight visibility in real time and eliminates unnecessary draw calls for hidden block entities and entities.
More Culling	A mod that changes how multiple types of culling are handled in order to improve performance
BadOptimizations	A collection of mostly micro optimizations that add up to something bigger!
ImmediatelyFast	ImmediatelyFast is an open source Minecraft mod which improves the immediate mode rendering performance of the client.
Particle Core	Particle Core focuses on one thing: Optimizing particles. Vanilla Minecraft is quite inefficient with particles in a variety of ways. Particle Core aims to improve this.
Ixeris	Ixeris is a mod that optimizes event polling to improve client performance.
ModernFix-mVUS	ModernFix is an all-in-one mod that improves performance, reduces memory usage, and fixes many bugs in modern Minecraft versions (most versions including and above 1.16 are supported) without majorly compromising the game experience.
ScalableLux	A Fabric mod that improves the performance of light updates in Minecraft.
Concurrent Chunk Management Engine	A Fabric mod designed to improve the chunk performance of Minecraft.
Optimized Block Entities	OBE is a client side mod that significantly improves the rendering speed of block entities.
Async Logger	Makes logging operations asynchronous, which improves performance.
Gnetum	Improves performance by distributing HUD updates over multiple frames.

Non-SkyBlock QoL Mods

Modification	Uses
Tooltip Scroll	Adds ability to scroll any tooltip, useful when looking on items with a lot of modifiers.
Mod Menu	Adds a menu where you can easily change settings of your mods.
Sound Controller	Adds ability to change volume or disable any sound in the game.
Roughly Enough Items (REI)	Adds a vanilla items menu with a search bar. Some mods, like Skyblocker or Firmament, also add SkyBlock items.
Gamma Utils	This is a fully configurable and client side gamma utility mod, making it much easier to see in the dark.
Compacting	Compacts repeated chat messages, just like Patcher did on 1.8.9.
kennytvs-epic-force-close-loading-screen-mod-for-fabric	Instantly closes the loading terrain screen on world changing and drastically reduces the resource pack loading screen duration.
More Chat History	Increases the maximum length of chat history from 100 to 16384.

Resource Pack QoL Mods

Catharsis	Adds support for custom SkyBlock resource packs.
ResourcePackCached	Caches server resource packs (official SkyBlock pack in this case), so players don't have to wait every time they login to the server.
quick pack	Speeds up resource pack loading times.
Recursive Resources	Adds better resource pack menu.
