Changelog/2025/October 15

0.23.5

Hypixel SkyBlock 0.23.5 - Dungeonbreaker, Pity System, Ironman W's, and more!

Updated: October 15, 2025

Hello!

Today we've released version 0.23.5 of Hypixel SkyBlock, which includes the Dungeonbreaker pickaxe, a new /pity system to help out particularly unlucky players, various improvements to Ironman profiles, lots of quality of life (QoL) changes, and a few bug fixes! Keep reading for all the details!

► Dungeonbreaker

[edit | edit source]

Where Dungeonbreaker?

The Dungeonbreaker is a new pickaxe that can be purchased at Ophelia for 500 Wither Essence. It allows you to mine through most blocks in the Catacombs.

The Dungeonbreaker has a couple of limitations:

  • The number of blocks you can break is limited by how many Charges you have available
    • Charges regenerate at 2 blocks per second
    • You also regenerate up to 5 Charges when collecting a Secret with the new Echoes of the Lost perk
      • This perk can be found in the Wither Essence shop
  • You cannot break blocks around room boundaries
  • Crypts can't be broken with the Dungeonbreaker. They will still require Superboom TNT or an equivalent explosion effect, as previously

With the release of the Dungeonbreaker, you will no longer be able to "stonk" with previous methods. This allows us to enable anticheat measures that were previously disabled due to having to allow "stonking" as a mechanic.

The Dungeonbreaker is an important step in moving towards a fully latest version experience, as stonking was a vanilla exploit only found in Minecraft 1.8. While the Dungeonbreaker is designed for the latest version functionality in mind, it should be fully functional in older versions. However, we still encourage you to update your Minecraft version (and mods!) as soon as possible since a lot of future content will most definitely require the latest version.

► /pity

[edit | edit source]

RNGesus not on your side? Say hello to /pity! This new menu keeps track of various new and pre-existing pity across the game. The addition of /pity does not mean we are discontinuing RNG Meters - this system just allows us to add hard pity for smaller systems that aren't large or complex enough to warrant a dedicated meter. The Pity menu can also be accessed through the /rng menu, or by typing /pity directly.

New Pity

  • Hoppity's Hunt Pity
    • Every 500th Egg you open is guaranteed to contain a MYTHIC rabbit you don't already have
    • Every 2,500th Egg you open is guaranteed to contain a DIVINE Rabbit you don't already have
      • Designer Note: Rabbits from the Hitman count towards pity. Pity replaces the previously teased Hoppity's Hunt RNG Meter.
      • Designer Note: Upon pity release, players will receive pity progress of up to 1 new free divine and mythic rabbit based upon lifetime eggs opened.
  • Garden Pity
    • Every 3,000th Visitor who visits once you are Garden Level 15 is guaranteed to be the Spaceman
      • Designer Note: Pity only increments if you are at the necessary Garden level to spawn the Spaceman.
  • Moonglade Marsh Pity
    • Every 2,500th Treasure fished is guaranteed to be Fish The Fish
    • Every 2,500th mob killed is guaranteed to drop Mob The Fish
    • Every 1,000th Tree Gift is guaranteed to have Tree The Fish

Pre-Existing Pity

  • Gold & Diamond Trophy Fish on the Crimson Isle
    • Every 100th Trophy Fish of a specific type is guaranteed to be GOLD
    • Every 600th Trophy Fish of a specific type is guaranteed to be DIAMOND
  • Glacite Mineshaft spawning in the Glacite Tunnels
    • Base chance of 1/2,000, mining blocks decreases the 2,000 until you get a Mineshaft

► Ironman W's

[edit | edit source]

There's a handful of improvements we've made to Ironman Profiles with this update.

➥ Ironman Shen's Auctions

[edit | edit source]

Ironman profiles will no longer be bidding against Normal profiles in Shen's Auctions to help level the playing field a bit more. There will be about half the regular quantities of items available in Shen's Auction and Special. We anticipate the numbers will need tweaking, but we want to see how it plays out first.

Keep in mind that purchasing any items from Shen's Auction or Special will Co-op Soulbound the item.

➥ Convert To Normal Profile ("De-iron")

[edit | edit source]

Tired of the Ironman experience? Solo and Co-op Ironman profiles now have the ability to convert to a Normal profile, although the process is a bit different for both.

If you're on a Solo Ironman profile, you can choose to start the conversion in the Profile Management menu. In most cases, you'll be required to wait a certain amount of time (up to 35 days) in case you change your mind. Once the timer is up, you'll be asked one last time if you are absolutely sure you want to de-iron, as the process is permanent!

For Ironman Co-ops, the process is a little different. Once someone in the Co-op wishes to convert, it will start a vote that lasts 3 days. During this time, if any player in the Co-op votes "NO" or fails to vote, the conversion process will stop. If the Co-op unanimously votes "YES", then the countdown starts (up to 35 days). If during this time any player in the Co-op has second thoughts, they are able to cancel the conversion process in the Profile Management menu.

➥ Cosmetic Auction House

[edit | edit source]

Ironman profiles are now able to purchase most cosmetics listed on the Auction House (they are still not able to sell any). When opening the Auction House menu, they'll now see a custom browser with filters for various cosmetic types.

For Normal profiles, we've replaced the Blocks tab in the Auction House with a Cosmetics tab so that players can more easily find cosmetics. There wasn't much going on in the Blocks tab previously, and most of its items can now be found in the Tools & Misc tab instead.

On a side note, Ironman profiles can now purchase a custom amount of Booster Cookies from the Ironman Bazaar.

➥ Ironman Guild

[edit | edit source]

Found above spawn in the Dwarven Mines, the Ironman Guild is an in-universe Guild with Ironman Dwarves. If you talk to Ian of Ironmen, he'll explain Ironman profiles, and he'll even open a menu for you to create an Ironman profile right there if you want.

► Other Changes

[edit | edit source]

There are a handful of other changes being made with this update to help balance the game.

  • Scorpion Bow Changes
    • Renamed to 'Spider Shortbow'
    • Made crafting recipe significantly cheaper
    • Deals x2 Damage to the Tarantula Broodfather's Egg Sacs
    • Is now a Shortbow
    • Reduced stats to compensate
  • Mosquito Bow now deals x3 Damage to the Tarantula Broodfather's Egg Sacs
  • Egg Sac Changes
    • Tier 3: 2 Egg Sacs -- 3 Health each
    • Tier 4: 3 Egg Sacs -- 6 Health each
    • Tier 5: 4 Egg Sacs -- 9 Health each
      • Designer Note: This has been reduced down from 5/10/15 Health each on Alpha.
  • T5 Tarantula Broodfather's 'Til Death Do Us Part' ability now has 'Noxious Paralysis' ability and can Backstab
  • T5 Tarantula Broodfathers now always have Magic Resistance instead of only being after its 'Bat Barrage' ability
  • Points gained for Hunting during Agatha's Contests are now per-mob instead of per-shard to prevent players from getting way more Points than intended
  • The Starborn Shard is now a Water shard instead of a Combat Shard
  • Reduced the scaling of enchantments that increased damage to specific mob types
  • Renamed 'Explorer' achievement to 'Wanderer', changed description to more clearly indicate that it requires you to visit every zone in the Hub, except beyond what's required for the 'Explorer' quest (except the Regalia Room)
  • The Soul Eater Ultimate Enchantment is now capped at 1m Damage outside of Dungeons
  • Removed Smite VII from Tomioka's shop
  • Capped the 'Maniac Miner' Pickaxe Ability to 500 Mining Fortune
    • Designer Note: We anticipate this being a 10%~ cut to hourly rates from our testing. Mining pure ores in an early-game mining area was never intended to be the best money-making method for mining, and we will look into making adjustments to Gemstones in the future.
  • Reduced the drop rate of Glacite Shards to 0.1% from various mobs
  • Nerfed Enchanted Hoppers to only give 70% of an item's NPC sell price
  • Unequipping Reaper or Final Destination Armor now takes away stats from their abilities if they were active
  • Fossil item descriptions no longer mention that they give Fuel, as it's not their primary purpose
    • They can still be used for Fuel, but it's a "secret" feature

► Bug Fixes

[edit | edit source]

As usual, we have fixed some more bugs with this release.

  • Fixed Gauntlet of Contagion's damage scaling when it's just supposed to be a percentage of mob health
  • Fixed Primordial Jockey's doing way more damage than intended
  • Fixed Ragnarock's recipe being in the shape of an axe, despite now being a sword
  • Fixed the Hollow Wand's 'Ichor Pool' damage buff persisting even after leaving radius

  • Fixed Vampire Witch Mask being able to damage certain immune Galatea mobs
  • Fixed an issue with the 'Front Loaded' HOTM perk
  • Fixed a rare issue when claiming items from The Forge
  • Fixed Angry Archaeologists flying when touching water

► What's Next?

[edit | edit source]

Here is a quick update on the next major update coming to SkyBlock, along with a peek at what is to come next year. Keep in mind that this list is definitely not comprehensive; there are many things not mentioned here that we are working on, some even planned to come out later this year!

➥ The Greenhouse

[edit | edit source]

Later this year, we're planning to release the biggest addition to the Garden since its initial release in February 2023. This update includes the main flagship feature of the Greenhouse, a revamp to Farming Tools, a nerf to Crop Milestones and Visitor Milestones, and a new powder-like currency for Farming (retroactive by the way!). You'll be able to spend this new currency on earnable and upgradable Farming Chips, which will provide a boost to all Garden-related content. Our goal with this is to make Garden progression feel smoother and more rewarding through regular upgrades as you play.

If you haven't seen it yet, check out our previous sneak peek of the Greenhouse HERE !

➥ Next Year: Second Foraging Island

[edit | edit source]

We've begun pre-production of the second foraging island, which is slated to come out next year. We'll provide more updates on the project as we get closer to release.

➥ Next Year: Latest Version Content

[edit | edit source]

Going into 2026, we have 2 goals: new combat content and more latest version features. We're really excited about all the cool new things we can bring to you guys in latest, so we want to remind everyone to move over to 1.21+ if you haven't already! All of our major content updates planned for 2026 are latest version only, don't miss out!

In the near future, we plan on only supporting the 2 latest content drops in addition to 1.8.9. This will allow us to utilize even more cutting-edge features for updates. You can read more about it in our announcement HERE!

If you encounter any bugs or unexpected behavior, please report it HERE!

That's all for today!
