► What's Next?
[edit | edit source]Second Foraging Island
[edit | edit source]We have now completed most of the remaining work for the Moonglade Marsh, the first island of Galatea. While we already have designed the majority of the features for the Torrhus Canyon and Lunarise (the others islands of Galatea), we have not started development just yet. That being said, having these plans ready should make things easier once we do.
Stonking
[edit | edit source]Stonking, the use of a ghost pickaxe in the Catacombs to reach secrets faster and increase efficiency, has been part of the game for a long time. Although the game wasn't initially designed with this mechanic in mind, we recognize the skill and mastery players have developed around it. Additionally, we've found that the Catacombs might simply be less enjoyable if players were forced to reach each secret slowly, using only the intended methods.
As we continue introducing more features from newer Minecraft versions into SkyBlock, we're officially implementing a Stonking-like mechanic accessible across all game versions.
If you're interested in seeing our plans in action, we'll be holding multiple testing sessions on Alpha in the coming weeks.
Guardian Slayer
[edit | edit source]We previously announced we were working on new Slayers, and now feel comfortable sharing the identity of a new fishing-based one. Guardian Slayer takes place on a dedicated instanced island, accessible via the Ship Navigator, where players can fish up that island's exclusive sea creatures and kill them until the boss spawns. Since the boss has an island all to itself and can only be spawned there, it has allowed us to tie some really cool map mechanics into the boss' abilities, which we're excited for you to see soon.
Guardian Slayer will have to release after Lotus Atoll on account of it relying upon some new systems introduced by the Atoll, however both updates are currently deep into development.
That's all for today! :)
